Easter Sunrise Drama
With the beginning of a new day, Corpus Christi celebrates the story of our salvation through Jesus Christ. Every Easter morning thousands gather bringing lawn chairs, blankets or throws before the sun rises to get a great view of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Join us this Easter at sunrise at the Cole Park Amphitheater to experience this amazing event.
The Easter Sunrise Drama is an annual re-enactment of the life of Christ. It serves as a living witness of our faith in Jesus Christ. The first Easter Sunrise Drama was presented on the Sea Wall in 1943. It has been held in difference locations, but for many years was presented on a barge off the Sea Wall. Since 1975 it has been held at Cole Park. It is an ecumenical drama performed by local youth, young adults, and adults of the Coastal Bend.
You are invited to be a part of the cast and crew. Participants of all ages from churches throughout the Coastal Bend gather to tell this story in this beautiful drama. Youth and adults of all denominations and ages are able to participate as actors in this drama. Acting experience is not necessary. For more information on the Easter Sunrise Drama or to sign up as an actor, actress, or volunteer, contact the Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry at 361/882-6191.
